Self Defense
7.5 Reasons Most Women Will Not Attend A Self-Defense Course
Here are some disturbing statistics taking from the U.S.
- One of the startling facts is that 1 in 3 American women are sexually assaulted in their lifetime.
- 89% of sexual crimes have been committed by someone known to the victim.
- In 2002, there were 247,730 victims of rape, attempted rape, or sexual assault.
- In 2005-2006, there were 232,010 victims of rape, attempted rape, or sexual assault.
- Around 44% of rape victims are under age 18, while 80% are under age 30.
- 33% are unreported due to being a person you know
- 10-20 % are reported but not followed through
If you have not invested in your safety by taking a self-protection course you are setting yourself up to be another statistic.
Here are the most common reasons women have not taken the time to invest in their safety:
1. Just don't have the time
2. I won't be able to remember what I learn in one day
3. I don't want to hurt anyone
4. Fear of "what if it doesn't work"
5. Have been a victim before
6. Have not got around to it
7. "It won't happen to me attitude"
7. 5Don't want to think about being a victim
If you fall into anyone of the above categories you need to continue reading this letter.
My name is Brad Fantle, President of Tallahassee Taekwondo, but more importantly I am a self-protection expert and educator. With the help of Tom Patire (world renown self-protection expert), Tompatire.com, I have developed the perfect Self-Protection seminar that addresses all the issues listed above and helps empower anyone whether they have any experience or not!
Here is how it works:
- All techniques that are taught have been designed around everyday movements like knocking on a door, turning a key, rubbing your fingers together or just walking. You will leave confident that you will remember what you have been taught because you use the same movements every day.
- All techniques are taught in a non-violent manner so you will not severely injure anyone, protecting you from liability. Don't be afraid to use what you have learned
- Courses are taught in a fun, relaxed atmosphere but are very informative and give each group the necessary tools to possibly save their life.
- We don't need a lot of space to teach this seminar which means it can be taught almost anywhere (you office, conference room or classroom)
- Courses are designed to be an hour and a half but can be condensed to 60 minutes
- The minimum students we will teach is 10 at a time and groups of 20 or more are also very doable
- The seminar is hands on but is very safe and is taught with the beginner in mind. Someone with no previous self-defense knowledge.
Be proactive and take advantage of this opportunity now. We normally only host a few of these seminars a month so you will want to take advantage NOW!
